We are Business Lawyers and Workplace Advisors with over 40 years senior legal and HR experience working in Australian and international companies.

This means we understand exactly what our clients want and how to best deliver legal and workplace advice and assistance that meets their unique needs.

Given our own ‘inside’ experiences on senior management teams within commercial organisations, we pride ourselves on our simple communication. We ensure our clients receive the answers and help they need without the jargon.

Our size and experience means our directors are always hands on. We can work with our clients on things that pop up and need attention immediately, or on projects that require in depth knowledge and strategic thinking.

We don’t pretend to be everything to everybody. If we can't provide the absolute best subject matter expertise for our clients we ensure we find someone from our trusted network of advisers that can.

Leonie has spent her career working with clients who understand that to get the best out of your business you need to get the best out of your employees.  To get the best out of your employees, you need to be conscious of who your employees are, what their drivers are, and how they connect to your business values and aims. Leonie’s style and approach with her clients is consultative coaching.

Leonie’s natural coaching ability, teamed with her experience and expertise, enables her to navigate complex scenarios and steer clients through their people related challenges towards better outcomes for all involved. Leonie also works with her clients in the areas of teamwork (facilitating workshops with teams to get clarity on purpose, accountabilities and values/norms) and leadership development coaching in relation to all facets of people management, change management, and with a core component on influencing skills.

Leonie practiced as an employment and industrial relations lawyer for a number of years prior to moving into management roles in industrial relations, shared services and human resources.  Leonie works with her clients to develop their people management skills and leadership abilities, using consultative coaching in her approach, and always with a view to improving the workplace experience for everyone.

Martin Richardson

Martin spent 12 years working as a senior legal adviser inside some of Australia’s foremost companies. As ‘inside counsel’ Martin learnt that any effective commercial legal adviser understands how to balance the role of business defender with the role of business partner. As a member of several senior management teams Martin also gained a sound understanding of solving legal problems as part of larger commercial challenges and opportunities.

Martin’s personal approach and experience lends itself perfectly to any business that requires a hands-on legal adviser that doesn’t get bogged down in jargon when providing advice and assistance, and requires solid relationships at all levels of an organisation.

Having held the role as General Counsel several times Martin has also effectively managed large teams and mentored and coached colleagues and team members. Martin is passionate about developing the next generation of in-house lawyers.
